Emergency numbers
In case of emergency, you can dial the emergency number 112. You will be asked whether you need the police, fire department or an ambulance. 

In case there is no emergency, but you do want to talk to the police, dial 0900-8844. Using a non-dutch phone, this would be 0031 343 57 8844. 


Urgent care:

In case of urgent medical issues, you can turn to two different hospitals: the Radboud UMCGeert Groteplein 10, phone number 024-361 4187, or the Canisius Wilhelmina Ziekenhuis (CWZ) located on the Weg door Jonkerbos 100 in Nijmegen, reacheable on 024-3365 7657.


Emergency dentist:

There is also an emergency dentist in case you need urgent care. The practice is located on the Weg door Jonkerbos 106 and reachable by phone on 0900 – 8276456.


General practice centre:

If you need a general practitioner outside of opening hours, you turn to the General Practice Centre. You do need to call before showing up. Nijmegen has one GP Centre, located on the Weg door het Jonkerbos 108, phone number is 0900-8880.  


Municipality:
When you want to talk to the municipality, to make an appointment or for instance report nuisances or parking problems, you can do so by calling 14024. For non-dutch phones, this would be 0031 24 329 90 00.


Public Health Services:

For questions about health, vaccinations, (tropical) diseases, (sexual) illnesses, pregnancy and other health related questions please contact the Public Health Authority (GGD).  Address: Groenewoudseweg 275, phone number: 088 144 7144.

Rivers international School (Arnhem):                                     
In the city of Arnhem, the newly built Rivers International school is situated. It is not only a pre-school, but also a primary and secondary school. From Nijmegen, the school can be easily reached by car within 20 minutes, or with the train to trainstation Arnhem Zuid (only 2 stops from Nijmegen central trainstation!).


Kadinsky College Nijmegen:

The Kadinsky secondary school offers special bilangual (English-Dutch) education programmes. The school is very well international oriented and even offers different programmes, for example Chinese. 


Radboud University:
Very well knowen, highly recommended and very internationally oriented University with multiple faculties and an enormous amount of bachelor-, master-, scholarship- and exchange programmes. They collaborate with the University hospital, Donders Institute, Max Planck Institute and many others. Furthermore, they offer Dutch schooling and 12 other language courses!

BSR - municipality taxes


Recently you might have received an email of the Belasting Service Rivierenland (BSR) that requests you to  pay a certain amount in 2 terms. This is for the municipality tax. 
The BSR is a tax for the water regulation, pollution tax, etc. You usually pay the tenancy part. If you don't have received any mail; it might have been sent to your DigID account!
