Nijmegen boasts a vibrant city centre with many cafes and restaurants. You can find everything from a simple take-away to upscale establishments where eating becomes an experience.
If you just fancy a drink, there are also many places to turn to – be it for a coffee or a fancy drink. Nijmegen’s own breweries and two dedicated craft beer cafes are ready to serve you a nice cold one. But in between all the different options, how do you find the place to go? Here are some suggestions:
Blue and Julliet’s bar
Very nice lunch and dinner bar, serves multiple dishes, good quality and a nice variety. You actually sit in the kitchen, watching your food being prepared! Celebrating a party? That can be done there as well!
Vesters
Want to go somewhere fancy? Then try Vesters! Top of the bill but reasonable priced star class food! Situated in Nijmegen East.
Stoom
Stoom is the beer bar in the old Honig factory. The pub is situated in an old factory, that is actually very stylish. As part of Nijmegens Oersoep brewery, they serve ofcours their own, but also lots of other beers. And they serve excellent pub food too!
Loetje
The famous Dutch steakhouse with several facilities in the country. Nijmegen is their latest gain. Situated in the popular Handelskade area. Known for their great steaks with sauce and bread.
Bankoh
The second restaurant of the owners of restaurant Berlin. This one is specialized in Asian (fusion) food, though with a special touch. The used their advisor and famous Dutch cook Ron Blaauw to create the menu.
Toon
Cosy and authentic cafe where the locals and business people go after work. It is often very busy on Thursdays and Friday’s. During weekends it is a great spot to play board games with friends!
Manna
Delicious! Fresh fish, Japanese and fantastic dishes. Classic but refreshing, but served with style – in a way only Manna can do it.
Ultimo
Want to have good food and a nice glass of wine? Then Ultimo might be the place to go! With a nice terrace overviewing the river and riverside, ideal for sultry summer evenings.
Freddy’s
Finger food and burgers. The best burgers and hot dogs in town, with corn and fries on the side. Good prices and always tasty!
Berlin
Michelin-worthy food… Small dishes, but prepared in a beautiful and delicious way. Great night out and a culinary experience!
Nacional
Nacional is a good resturant with the one vibe you want as a hospitality lover. They serve good wines and even better dishes. They are located on the Waalkade.
